🔍 Property Description

A luxury hotel, housed in a century-old palace in the heart of the Vidago Thermal Park, surrounded by mountains and forest, with an atmosphere full of glamour and elegance.

Initially known for its thermal baths, due to the excellence of its waters, it is now a 5-star hotel that offers guests excellent service. A modern Spa, and a unique golf course, designed by the famous architect Philip Mackenzie Ross. The combination of a palace with excellent spa treatments and a challenging golf course, placed the Vidago Palace Hotel amongst the most prestigious European resorts in the period of the 2nd World War. As in an enchanted world, the Palace invites you to live unforgettable experiences, where the refinement and splendour of the spaces are marked by the charm and romanticism of the Belle Époque.

Vast and generous, the Natural Park presents a landscape typical of the beginning of the 20th century, which remains to this day. The groves, paths, trails and water mirrors invite visitors to stroll through the trees, which change colour according to the seasons.

Only one hour separates Porto from the uniqueness of a hotel like the Vidago Palace and 15 minutes is the time needed to reach the historic city of Chaves. So close and so distinctive, as it always has been and always will be!

At the Vidago Palace Hotel you can breathe and feel art worship, through the nobility of the spaces and the atmosphere worthy of kings. More than a hotel, it is an unparalleled experience.

The interior design is the responsibility of Portuguese architects José Pedro Lopes Vieira and Diogo Rosa Lã.

Golf Course

The Vidago Palace golf course is truly unique. Redesigned by Cameron & Powell from the original Mackenzie Ross course built in 1936. The current course has been completely rebuilt according to USGA specifications for greens and tees, and has been transformed into a Par 72 course, enabling international championships, while maintaining the identity of the original design and faithfully reflecting the beauty and remarkable qualities for the practice of this sport. The Clubhouse was designed by the renowned architect Álvaro Siza Vieira.

Thermal Spa

The Thermal Spa at the Vidago Palace Hotel is a space of sophisticated elegance where well-being and the power of thermal waters combine to provide you with an unforgettable experience. The minimalist space, with straight lines and white marble, designed by the famous international architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, gives the Spa at the Vidago Palace Hotel a modern atmosphere that conveys tranquility and well-being, even before enjoying any treatment. Enjoy the therapeutic and healing properties of the natural mineral waters, complementing your stay with a refreshing shower, passing through the invigorating ice fountain or energizing your body in the luxurious vitality pool, located in the wonderful outdoor atmosphere.

Gastronomic refinement at the table

Under the guidance of the renowned Chef Vitor Matos, Vidago Palace restaurants are distinguished by the use of seasonal and regional products, genuine and fresh, thus enhancing their taste. The Chef's cuisine has Mediterranean influences and is a blend of tradition and new gastronomic trends.

Be Part of Royalty

It was in the 19th century that King D. Carlos I wished to see a luxury therapeutic spa built that would have international projection. The waters of the village of Vidago were already considered to be of national interest at the time. The perfect conditions were met to give life to what was a dream and, it was on the 6th October 1910, the year in which the First Portuguese Republic was established, that the Vidago Palace Hotel was inaugurated.
