🇻🇳 On April 2-4, 2025, the 11th Asia Golf Tourism Convention (AGTC) took place in Danang, Vietnam.


🧐 Danang is a vibrant coastal city known for its stunning beaches, rich cultural heritage, and world-class golf courses. The city has emerged as a premier golfing destination in Southeast Asia, attracting golf enthusiasts from around the world with its diverse and challenging courses.


💰 In 2024, Danang earned US$68 million from golf tourism, contributing significantly to its US$186 million total tourism revenue. With further investments and the opening of new courses, the city’s golf tourism sector promises to gain greater growth in the future.


⛳️Danang boasts several renowned golf courses, each offering unique experiences and breathtaking views. Some of the standout courses include:


  • Ba Na Hills Golf Club: designed by Luke Donald and managed by IMG, this world-class facility is located in the foothills of the Ba Na Hills, about 25 minutes from downtown Danang. The course has been awarded "Asia’s Best Golf Course" multiple times and offers a challenging yet enjoyable golfing experience.


  • Legend Danang Golf Resort: this resort features two masterpiece courses designed by legendary golfers Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus. The Norman Course and the Nicklaus Course provide distinct challenges and have been recognized among the best new courses in the world.


  • Montgomerie Links Vietnam: situated near the historic Danang Beach, this stunning 7,090-yard par-72 course offers a blend of natural beauty and golfing excellence. It has been rated as one of Asia’s most elite courses and provides a memorable experience for golfers of all skill levels.


  • Hoiana Shores Golf Club: this course is part of the larger Hoiana integrated resort and offers a scenic golfing experience with views of the East Sea and the Marble Mountains. It is known for its challenging layout and high-quality facilities.


  • Laguna Golf Lăng Cô: designed by Sir Nick Faldo, this course is nestled near Lang Co Bay and offers a diverse terrain that includes rice paddies, streams, and ocean views. It hosts the annual finals of the Faldo Series Asia, attracting players from around the region.


This prestigious event, organized by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), brought together delegates from the golf tourism industry across the Asia Pacific region. The convention featured 2 days of pre-scheduled meetings, allowing suppliers to connect with 150 accredited golf tour operators who specialize in selling golf vacations in the region.


📈 AGTC 2025 has registered a record 450 delegates from 33 countries and territories, far surpassing the 340 delegates at AGTC 2024 in Abu Dhabi.


🧐 The International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) is a global organization dedicated to promoting and growing the golf tourism industry. Established in 1997, IAGTO has over 2,300 member companies across more than 94 countries, including golf tour operators, golf courses, resorts, and other industry stakeholders.


⛳️ The AGTC Golf Tournament was held at 2 renowned courses: the Legend Danang Golf Resort’s Nicklaus Course and Hoiana Shores Golf Club.


The Asia Pacific Awards, announced during the AGTC, recognize outstanding contributions to golf tourism in the region.

These awards celebrate excellence in golf courses, resorts, and tour operators, highlighting their role in promoting golf tourism and enhancing the visitor experience.
